Who is your favorite hero in fiction?
Leslie Knope, the protagonist played by Amy Poehler in the TV series Parks & Rec. She is my spirit animal. I love her perseverance and continued optimism!
Who are your favorite artists?
I love the work of Swedish abstract artist Hilma af Klimt, but recently I saw The Dinner Party by Judy Chicago at the Brooklyn Museum and was fascinated!
What music do you enjoy?
Lately, I can’t stop listening to the Sachal Studios Orchestra out of Lahore, Pakistan. These classical jazz musicians do these amazing covers of popular songs–but the infusion of tabla and sitars adds so much!
What is one of your hobbies?
I really loved (pre-pandemic!) planning trips. I like to research where to stay, all the sights I want to see, all the restaurants I want to visit, and fun things I want to do there. I love to even do that in neighborhoods in my own city. I always dream about finding a way to monetize curated itineraries and trips!
What’s the last book you read?
Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine. I loved how this woman opened herself from a carefully structured and somewhat solitary life to bravely experience life as it unfolded.
Why do you do what you do?
I love helping people turn inward and figure out what brings them joy and what makes them who they are, then learn how to share that authentically.
What is your latest accomplishment?
I’ve started my consulting business full-time! It’s both exhilarating and unexpected, often simultaneously!
What would you say is your chief characteristic?
I am really enthusiastic and friendly. Maybe it’s growing up in the Midwest. But when I am excited about something, I can’t hide it- and don’t want to!
What makes you happy?
Just getting to talk to new people and be out and about–whether that’s at a cool restaurant, on a trip, or in a Lyft Pool. Pandemic lockdowns were hard for an extrovert for me!
What is your favorite quote?
“Life is a banquet, and most poor suckers are starving,” from the movie Auntie Mame. I like to live life to the fullest!
