Rod is a former communications executive at PepsiCo, Kodak, and IBM. He is chief storyteller at Thorn Media, a communications consultancy. Using storytelling to persuade people and organizations to see things in new ways, engage their emotions, and take action — is at the core of everything he does: strategic content creation and management; writing and producing; storytelling programs and workshops, communications strategy, culture and identity programs, transformation communications, employee engagement and recognition, and diversity initiatives.

Who is your favorite painter or composer?
My favorite painter is Vincent Van Gogh. My favorite composer is Beethoven.

Why do you do what you do?
I love creating stories that make people think and feel and act to create a better world.

What is your latest accomplishment?
I just submitted the first draft of my latest non-fiction book manuscript to my publisher.

Hugging my 22-year-old daughter, kissing her forehead and hearing her still call me “Daddy.”
