Employee Activism is on the Rise. What do Brands need to Consider During this Tumultuous Time?

Brands are acknowledging and taking positions on social issues in ways they never would have a few years ago. At the same time, many brands have empowered their employees to raise their voices on social media in the form of brand advocacy. But what happens when employees use their voices to go beyond or against the comfort level of the brand when discussing topics like COVID-19, Black Lives Matter, or even the election?

Join us for a discussion with two of our Consultants Collective member consultants, Douglas Spencer and Casey Hall as they explore issues around employee activism and what brands need to consider during this tumultuous time. They’ll discuss the following questions:

  • Can brands have it both ways? Engaging in brand activism while avoiding potential fallout from employee activism?
  • What types of employee activism should be concerning for brands, and what can they actually do about it?
  • How do Human Resources, Corporate Communications, Compliance and other departments collaborate to mitigate brand risk?
  • What about when the target of employee activism is their employer?

Organizations have to address these issues sooner or later, and will be better served by having a plan in place before they find themselves in the middle of a crisis.

Please join us on Friday, October 9th, from 8:30am – 9:30am PT / 11:30am ET to learn more about employee activism and employee advocacy.
